Marlowe, Rowley & Winkle 1st Annual Camping Trip 2015

Well my sister talked me into a 4 day tent camping trip originally set for Yosemite but canceled by the plague, so we headed out to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park. The boys surprisingly did amazing on the 7 hour road trip. It wasn't a very private or secluded campsite like we prefer but it was nice for an emergency reservation and things got better once we all saw that there was a river we could go in. There was a growing fire while we were there that caused the air to be hazy at times and caused this mom to worry a lot, but Shea checked the fire maps daily and we all had a great time in the wilderness.
Finally a pic of all the boys together

It was a wee bit cold in the mornings. Thank you Nana for the gloves :)

Uncle Justin was a super trooper and hiked everywhere we did even up and down steep rocky cliffs with crunches.

Cruz got a little scared on the bridge but no worries Junior Ranger Greyson was there to help.

Aunt April picked up all the boys junior ranger handbooks. Once the boys completed the activities in the handbook they got sworn in as a junior rangers and received a patch with the parks name on it. The boys have already requested a junior ranger outfit like cousin Grey had for their patches. This is an awesome program that we will continue to participate in, not only do they learn about the forest but they will get a different patch or pin from each park they do this at. So fun! Thank you Aunt April for finding us another awesome free kids program.

The growing fire and smoke

on the way back up the canyon we stopped to see some amazing giant sequoias
We had a blast and totally look forward to next years family camping trip!
